The Voigtländer Vitoret D is a fully mechanical camera. This means it does not require batteries to operate the shutter.
The Vitoret D is sometimes referred to as the poor man's Olympus Trip and it's easy to understand why. Like the Trip, it is fully mechanical, is powered by a selenium cell for metering and shooting, and uses zone focusing to get the image just right. Unlike the trip, it boasts a 50mm f2.8 lens and is fully manual with the only shutter speeds at 1/30s, 1/60s, 1/125s and bulb.
We won't pretend this camera is the best one we've ever seen, but it does the trick and will yield great results in the hands of a competent photographer. And we know you're that kind of person, aren't you?
