This kit includes:

  • Minolta Hi-matic 7S rangefinder

Description:

The HI-Matic 7s is a fully mechanical camera. This means it does not require batteries to operate the shutter. The 1.35 mercury battery is only used to power the camera’s light meter and auto-modes.

This is one of the best sold Japanese rangefinder in the 60s and early 70s. The Minolta Hi-matic 7s is a rangefinder that is built like a tank and benefits of one of Minolta’s great lenses. The Rokkor PF 45mm f1.8. This is the perfect camera for someone looking to enter the world of rangefinders on a smaller budget.

Due to the age of this camera and the nature of old lightmeters we can’t guarantee that it still works. This isn’t an issue as the camera will function perfectly without any batteries. To meter a scene before taking a picture simply use an external light-meter or a light-meter app on your phone (we recommend Lux or myLightmeter), alternatively you can use the foolproof sunny-16 rule.
