The Canon 7 is a fully mechanical camera. This means it does not require batteries to operate the shutter.

It uses Leica M39-mount lenses, giving you a plethora of tack-sharp lenses to screw on to the camera.

The Canon 7 was Canon's last rangefinder that used the Leica M39-mount, which allows shooters to add some beautiful glass to the camera. It was released in the same year as the Nikon F, the SLR that finally dethroned rangefinders. Yet, the Canon 7 is a beast of a camera that is built like an absolute tank. With a shutter speed of up to 1/1000s, an easy-to-use and beautiful focusing screen and a selenium light meter, it's one of Canon's best cameras out there!
