Description:
The Chinon CM-5 is a fully mechanical camera. This means it does not require batteries to operate the shutter. The 2 LR44 are only used to power the camera’s light meter.
It uses K-mount lenses which will give you access to Pentax Takumar and many other high quality lenses.
This is a very good no nonsense camera. It is lightweight, fully mechanical, doesn’t require any batteries to operate the shutter and has access to a massive amount of lenses thanks to its K-mount. What more to ask?
Due to the age of this camera and the nature of old light meters we can’t guarantee that the light meter still works. This isn’t an issue as the camera will function perfectly without batteries. To meter a scene before taking a picture we recommend using an external light-meter or a light-meter app on your phone. Alternatively you can use the foolproof sunny-16 rule.
