Description:
The Nikkormat FT is a fully mechanical camera. This means it does not require batteries to operate the shutter.
It uses Nikon F-mount lenses.
The Nikkormat series was Nikon's semi-professional camera line of the 60s. The Nikkormat FT was extemely popular in its day. It has many specs and features found in professional cameras but it was an affordable option for the serious consumer. It has a sturdy all-metal construction and even features mirror lock-up, which was extremely rare for consumer cameras back then.
Due to the age of this camera and the nature of old light meters we can’t guarantee that the light meter still works. This isn’t an issue as the camera will function perfectly without batteries. To meter a scene before taking a picture we recommend using an external light-meter or a light-meter app on your phone. Alternatively you can use the foolproof sunny-16 rule.
