The Olympus OM-3 is a fully mechanical camera. This means it does not require batteries to operate the shutter. The battery is only used to power the camera's light meter.
The Olympus OM-3 might be the crown jewel of the OM cameras. Released in 1983 alongside the more popular OM-4, the Olympus OM-3 features one of the best spot meters you'll ever find in an SLR and it comes with super easy to use controls. Because the OM-4 and OM-1n were still in production when the OM-3 came out, it was sold in lesser quantities and is therefore quite rare. A collector's item for sure and one hell of a performing SLR.
Like other Olympus OMs, this one uses Olympus OM-mount lenses, giving you access to a plethora of tack sharp Zuiko glass. We love this camera. It's light, compact and super reliable. it's our favourite 35mm SLR for travel!
