The Minolta Maxxum 7000 AF is a camera with an electronically controlled shutter. This means you will need a 4x AAA batteries to be able to operate the shutter.
It uses Minolta A-mount lenses.
Chances are you've never considered the Minolta Maxxum SLR, or even heard of the thing. Which is a shame, given how good this camera actually is! With its iconic early-80s look, the Maxxum 7000 is the first SLR to have both in-body autofocus and a motorised film advance. This would set the standard for all SLRs to come. Add to this camera the now-standard MASP modes, exposure compensation and much more.
We enjoy using this camera because of its surprising depth and ability to work in whatever situation. Recommended for everyone, but especially for those who want a camera that'll last them a long time.Fun fact: this particular camera is an early production unit. The XX is Maxxum were crossed, which led to the oil tycoon Exxon suing them for trademark infringement. Later models do not have the crossed Xs.
