The Olympus XA1 is a fully mechanical camera. This means it does not require batteries to operate the shutter.
The XA1 is a mechanical hybrid of the original XA and the classic Olympus Trip 35.
It uses a simple selenium cell for metering, and is not electronically controlled. Once again small enough to fit in your pocket, but this time with a fixed focus 35mm f4 lens. An extremely simple everyday camera to keep in your jacket pocket.
