The Yashica FX-3 is a fully mechanical camera. This means it does not require batteries to operate the shutter. The 2 LR44 is only used to power the camera’s light meter.
It uses a C/Y-mount lenses that give you access to the best of Yashica lenses and the amazing T* Contax series of lenses.
This camera is a reliability master. It is fully mechanical and built on a metal chassis. The covers are mode out of sturdy plastic that help to keep the camera super light.
This particular model has been given new pink leatherette making it a one of a kind super trendy camera. ;)
FOR MECHANICAL CAMERAS: Due to the age of this camera and the nature of old lightmeters we can’t guarantee that it still works. This isn’t an issue as the camera will function perfectly without any batteries. To meter a scene before taking a picture simply use an external light-meter or a light-meter app on your phone (we recommend Lux or myLightmeter), alternatively you can use the foolproof sunny-16 rule.
