Description:
The Nikkormat FT2 is a fully mechanical camera. This means it does not require batteries to operate the shutter.
It uses Nikon F-mount lenses.
The Nikkormat series was Nikon's semi-professional camera line starting in the 60s. The Nikkormat FT2 is Nikon's last pre-AI camera and was extemely popular in its day. It shares many specs and features found in professional cameras, but was aimed at the serious consumer on a smaller budget. It has a sturdy all-metal construction and even features mirror lock-up, which was extremely rare for consumer cameras back then.
Due to the age of this camera and the nature of old light meters we canât guarantee that the light meter still works. This isnât an issue as the camera will function perfectly without batteries. To meter a scene before taking a picture we recommend using an external light-meter or a light-meter app on your phone. Alternatively you can use the foolproof sunny-16 rule.
