The Ricoh LX-25 is a simple, light, fixed-focus point and shoot with a 34mm lens, slightly wider than the standard 35mm, and it does not pretend to be anything more. You load a roll, point it, and press the shutter. The fixed focus system works well for anything beyond about 1.3 metres, which covers the vast majority of everyday situations. It has a panorama mode if you want to crop to a wide format, automatic flash, a self-timer, and runs on standard AA batteries. At 250g it is one of the lighter cameras around. A good pick for anyone who wants a reliable, zero-fuss everyday camera without any complexity to deal with.
