The Z-Up 120 VP is a camera that punches above its looks. It has a distinctive champagne finish and a rubber-coated grip that feels solid in the hand, and under that modest exterior is a 38-120mm zoom that gives you a genuinely impressive range for a compact camera. At 38mm you have plenty of width for street scenes or group photos, and at 120mm you can pull subjects in close for tighter portraits or travel shots from a comfortable distance. It also has a macro mode for close-up work, which is a useful extra. Everything else is fully automatic: autofocus, exposure, built-in flash with red-eye reduction, and motorised film advance and rewind. It reads DX codes up to ISO 3200, so fast film is no problem. A very capable and easy-to-use daily camera that covers most situations without any fuss.
