Description:
The Yashica Minister D is a fully mechanical camera. This means it does not require batteries to operate the shutter. The 1.35 mercury battery is only used to power the camera’s light meter and auto-modes.
The Yashica Minister D is a rangefinder that is built like a tank and has a really good quality lens. It fairly small and quite easy to use if you can take on the full manual challenge. This is the perfect camera for someone looking to enter the world of rangefinders on a smaller budget.
Due to the age of this camera and the nature of old light meters we can’t guarantee that it still works. This isn’t an issue as the camera will function perfectly without any batteries. To meter a scene before taking a picture simply use an external light-meter or a light-meter app on your phone (we recommend Lux or myLightmeter), alternatively you can use the foolproof sunny-16 rule.
