Description:
The Fujica AX-1 is a camera with an electronically controlled shutter. This means you will need 1x 4LR44 battery to be able to operate the shutter.
It uses Fujica X-mount lenses.
The Fujica AX-1 is Fujica's answer to Canon's classic AE-1 camera. This robust camera was designed to be extremely to use. The AX-1 doesn't have a manual mode (except at 1/60s), but lets you use the camera in aperture-priority mode. That said, the built-in exposure compensation gives you some creative control over your exposure!
The Fujica AX-1 is a great system for beginning photographers looking for the easiest experience available. We've paired this kit with the tack-sharp 50mm f1.6.
Due to the age of this camera and the nature of old light meters, we can’t guarantee that the light meter still works. This isn’t an issue as the camera will function perfectly without batteries. To meter a scene before taking a picture we recommend using an external light-meter or a light-meter app on your phone. Alternatively you can use the foolproof sunny-16 rule.

For everyday use, I usually recommend Kodak Gold 200 or Kodak Ultramax 400 as both are super versatile, offer beautiful, rich colours, and are quite forgiving.
If you’re looking for black-and-white film, Ilford XP2 400 is a great option for ease of use and rich exposure latitude. Alternatively, Foma 100 is also great and will give you a bit more contrast and a grainier look.
