The all-metal body is built to last, the shutter is fully mechanical meaning it works without any battery at all, and the M42 screw mount gives access to one of the widest lens libraries in all of film photography. Paired with the 50mm f1.4 Takumar lens, you have a combination that produces images with a warmth and character that's hard to replicate. The f1.4 aperture lets in a generous amount of light for low-light shooting and gives a pleasingly shallow depth of field for portraits. Exposure is set fully manually, which makes this a great camera for anyone who wants to learn photography from the ground up.
