The Canonet 28 is one of those cameras that tends to be overlooked next to its more famous sibling the QL17, and that is exactly what makes it worth paying attention to. Launched in 1971 as a more affordable option in Canon's Canonet range, it carries a sharp 40mm f2.8 lens and a bright, clear coupled rangefinder in a compact and solid metal body. The fully programmed auto exposure handles everything automatically while the viewfinder needle shows you the shutter speed and aperture combination being set, and the leaf shutter fires without any battery at all. For flash use you can set the aperture manually. A simple, reliable, and very characterful camera that is a great everyday companion.
