The DL-1000 was Fujifilm's top zoom point and shoot in the early 1990s and the feature set shows it. The Fujinon 35-80mm f/3.8 lens is fast for a compact zoom and covers a useful everyday range. The multi-beam autofocus locks from just 65cm. A prewound film system loads the whole roll upfront and counts frames down, so your latest shots are the last to be rewound in case of accidental opening. The flash adjusts its output automatically to match the current zoom position. A landscape mode locks focus to infinity with the flash disabled for clean outdoor shots, and three HG scene modes cover backlight portraits, night portraits, and close-ups. Red-eye reduction, fill-in flash, AF lock, and a self-timer that can fire up to three shots in succession round out a feature set that is unusually thorough for a camera of this class. The real-image viewfinder zooms with the lens and includes a diopter adjustment for glasses wearers.
