The 35-80mm Fujinon lens is built from 8 elements in 8 groups, a quality construction for a compact, and the multi-beam autofocus locks reliably from just 65cm. One of its best practical features is Fujifilm's drop-in loading system combined with pre-wind technology: the camera winds the whole roll in on loading, then rewinds one frame at a time as you shoot, meaning your exposed frames are always safely inside the cartridge. The zooming real-image viewfinder has a dioptre adjustment for glasses wearers, and the feature set includes landscape mode, panorama mode, three HG scene modes, fill flash, red-eye reduction, and a multi-shot self-timer. This Date version also imprints the date or time directly onto the frame. A thoroughly well-specified camera from Fujifilm's best era of compact design.
