Description:

We like the C35 V for being one of the most straightforward and self-sufficient compact cameras of the 1970s. Part of Konica's celebrated C35 family, it carries the same sharp 38mm f2.8 Hexanon lens as its siblings in a compact all-metal body that has aged exceptionally well. The selenium meter ring around the lens generates its own power from ambient light, meaning this camera needs no battery at all. Exposure is fully programmatic, with the shutter and aperture selected automatically from a range of 1/30s to 1/650s, and a match needle in the viewfinder lets you confirm what the camera is doing. Zone focus via the focus ring is quick and easy to learn, and the 38mm Hexanon produces images with the contrast and colour rendering Konica glass is well known for. A compact, reliable, and completely battery-free everyday camera.
