The 10-element lens in 8 groups is a quality construction for a compact, and at the wide end it delivers sharp, contrasty results. The zooming real-image viewfinder adjusts with the lens, and a dioptre correction dial makes it comfortable for glasses wearers. There's night portrait mode, +1.5EV exposure compensation, red-eye reduction, a self-timer, and optional remote shutter release for tripod work. Konica's flash power management also reduces battery drain by 50 per cent during flash use, which is a practical advantage on a camera that naturally uses more battery at the long end.
