The Mamiya C220 is a fully mechanical camera. This means it does not require any batteries to operate its shutter.
One of the smaller and lighter models in Mamiya's C-series of TLR cameras, the C220 still offers the signature features that made this line famous as "Rolleiflex killers". It uses a twin-lens reflex design, with one lens for focusing and composing while the bottom lens is used for exposing the film. This allows for a bright, clear focusing screen and a compact form factor.
The C220 features Mamiya's unique bellows focusing system. The lenses themselves do not focus - instead, the entire front panel of the camera extends on a bellows, allowing for extremely close focusing capabilities. It was also one of the only TLR systems to offer interchangeable lenses, greatly expanding its versatility.
This kit comes with the legendary 80mm f2.8 lens, known for its sharpness and lovely rendering. The leaf shutter is whisper quiet. Its modular design and impressive performance make it a camera that will grow with you as your skills develop.
