The M645 1000S is a camera that changes how you think about photography. The 6x4.5cm negative gives you roughly three times the area of a 35mm frame, and the difference in detail, tonal range, and overall presence of the image is something you notice immediately. Introduced in 1976 as an upgrade to the original M645, the 1000S added a faster 1/1000s top shutter speed, depth of field preview, self-timer, and multiple exposure capability. The electronic focal plane shutter is reliable and precise, the interchangeable viewfinders and focusing screens give you real flexibility, and the all-metal body is built to last. The 80mm f2.8 Sekor C is the natural standard lens for this system, equivalent to approximately 50mm in full-frame terms, and produces sharp, beautifully rendered images that make the most of what the 645 format offers.
