Introduced in 1974, the Pro-S is the refined second generation of Mamiya's flagship 6x7 studio system, and it remains one of the most capable medium format cameras ever made. The 6x7cm negative is enormous, roughly four times the area of a 35mm frame, giving extraordinary detail, tonal richness, and a depth of rendering that makes every frame feel considered. The body is fully mechanical, requiring no battery at all to fire the shutter, which is built into each lens and syncs with flash at every speed. The rotating back is one of the RB's defining features, letting you switch between portrait and landscape orientation without moving the camera or tripod. Film backs are interchangeable mid-roll. Paired with the 127mm f3.5 KL, is the latest and best version of them all. It has ann equivalent to approximately 62mm in 35mm terms, this is a combination that has been trusted in portrait and commercial studios for decades.
