Minolta SRT 101 35mm SLR film camera with 58mm f1.4 lens
Description:
The SRT 101 is where Minolta's reputation for making serious, dependable SLRs was built. Released in 1966, it introduced two things the camera world had not seen before: full-aperture through-the-lens metering, and the Contrast Light Compensator system, which used two separate metering cells to balance exposure across bright and dark areas of a scene, something that matrix metering systems in modern cameras still do today. The fully mechanical shutter fires at any speed without any battery, and the all-metal build is exceptional. Paired with the 58mm f1.4 MC Rokkor-PF, the original kit lens for this camera, it is a combination with real character. The 58mm focal length sits just beyond a standard lens, giving a slightly flattering perspective for portraits, and wide open at f1.4 it produces images with a warmth and depth that is hard not to love.

Due to the age of this camera and the nature of old light meters we can’t guarantee that the light meter still works. This isn’t an issue as the camera will function perfectly without batteries. To meter a scene before taking a picture we recommend using an external light meter or for you to take our online course that will teach you how to use a film camera without the use of any external tools.
