Description

The XG-M is the finest camera in Minolta's XG series and one of the most capable manual focus SLRs they made before the X-700 arrived. Introduced in 1981, it offers aperture priority automatic exposure with stepless shutter speeds, and full metered manual mode with an LED shutter speed display in the viewfinder that shows both the set speed and the metered recommendation simultaneously. That combination of aperture priority and properly metered manual makes it more versatile than many cameras of its era, and it closely matches the X-700 in terms of features and build. Exposure compensation of ±2EV, a depth of field preview button, and a self-timer with LED indicator round out the feature set. The Minolta SR mount opens up access to a wide range of affordable MD and MC Rokkor lenses, and the 35mm f/2.8 is a sharp, compact wide-angle that's excellent for travel, street photography, and interiors.
