Nikon Nikkormat FT2 35mm SLR Film Camera with 50mm f2 Lens

€219,00

Description:

The Nikkormat FT2 is a camera that rewards getting to know it. Produced from 1975 to 1977 as part of Nikon's consumer line, it was built to the same standard of mechanical precision as the professional Nikon F series, with a fully mechanical metal shutter that works in any conditions without any battery at all. One of its most distinctive features is that the shutter speed is set via a collar around the base of the lens mount rather than a dial on top, which feels unusual at first but becomes second nature quickly. The metering system is centre-weighted and match-needle, guided by a needle in the viewfinder that you align with a fixed mark by adjusting aperture and shutter speed. The Nikon F-mount gives access to one of the most extensive lens libraries ever made, and the 50mm f2 Nikkor included here is a sharp, compact, and beautifully made standard lens. Built like a tank, straightforward in operation, and capable of outstanding results, the FT2 is a camera that experienced photographers often prefer over more complicated alternatives.

Due to the age of this camera and the nature of old light meters we can't guarantee that the light meter still works. This isn't an issue as the camera will function perfectly without batteries. To meter a scene before taking a picture we recommend using an external light-meter or for you to take our online course that will teach you how to use a film camera without the use of any external tools.
