We have a soft spot for the Konica Z-up 90e. It is a well-thought-out little camera that goes further than most in its category. The 38-90mm zoom covers everything from wide group shots to comfortable portrait distances, and the infrared autofocus system locks on quickly and reliably. There are several flash modes including night portrait and red-eye reduction, plus a handy exposure compensation option for trickier lighting situations. It even powers itself off after a few minutes of inactivity to save battery, which is a nice touch. Fully automatic and very easy to pick up and use, this is a great daily camera for anyone just starting out with film or looking for something reliable to carry everywhere.
