The Mju I is the camera that started one of the most iconic compact camera lines ever made. Released in 1991, it introduced the clamshell sliding lens cover design that became the Mju's signature, sliding it open turns the camera on instantly and protects the lens when closed. The 35mm f3.5 lens is sharp and produces images with good contrast and a natural field of view that suits street, travel, and everyday shooting equally well. Autofocus is fast and reliable with focus lock available, exposure is fully automatic, and the four flash modes cover auto, fill, red-eye reduction, and off. Close focus to just 35cm gives a surprising macro capability for a camera this small. Light, pocketable, and very easy to use.
