Description
We have a real soft spot for the OM-2. It takes everything that made the OM-1 great, a beautifully compact metal body, one of the finest viewfinders of the era, and the superb Olympus OM lens system, and adds something genuinely useful on top: aperture priority automatic exposure with TTL off-the-film metering. The OM-2's metering system reads light directly off the film surface during the exposure itself, which makes it more accurate than almost any other camera of its day, particularly in tricky lighting situations and with flash. Manual mode is always available when you want full control. The 24mm f/2.8 Zuiko is a lovely wide-angle lens that pairs beautifully with it, giving you a generous field of view for travel, street photography, architecture, and interiors. The OM system also offers a wide range of Zuiko lenses if you want to build a kit over time, all of which share the same compact, precisely made character as the camera itself.
