We have a real soft spot for the Pen EES-2. It's a half-frame camera, meaning each roll of 36 gives you 72 exposures, all in a vertical portrait format that looks lovely when printed as pairs. What sets the EES-2 apart from the more common fixed-focus Pen EE-2 is its 30mm f/2.8 D.Zuiko lens and a four-zone focus system, giving you noticeably more control over sharpness and a slightly faster optic that handles lower light better. The selenium meter around the lens sets exposure automatically without any batteries at all, just as it has done for decades. It's a compact, beautifully made little camera that rewards slowing down and thinking about your framing, and the results, especially on a fine-grain film, have a real character to them. A great choice for anyone who wants to shoot more thoughtfully and make their film go further.

Due to the age of this camera and the nature of old light meters we can’t guarantee that the light meter still works. This isn’t an issue as the camera will function perfectly without batteries. To meter a scene before taking a picture we recommend using an external light meter or for you to take our online course that will teach you how to use a film camera without the use of any external tools.
