Olympus Pen-FT 35mm half-frame SLR film camera with 25mm f4 lens

€499,00

Description:

The Pen FT is one of the most remarkable cameras ever designed. Released in 1966, it was the world's first half-frame SLR with through-the-lens metering, and it achieved this in a body barely larger than a compact rangefinder. The half-frame format shoots two portrait-orientation frames per standard 35mm frame, giving you 72 shots per 36-exposure roll. The rotary titanium shutter is one of its most unusual technical features, allowing flash sync at every shutter speed, something few SLRs of any era can match. The Olympus Pen F mount gives access to a dedicated range of beautifully made Zuiko lenses, and the 25mm f4 E.Zuiko Auto-W paired here is the wide angle option for the system, equivalent to approximately 35mm in full-frame terms, and perfectly sized to keep the camera compact.

Specs:

  • Type: Fully mechanical
  • Maximum Shutter Speed: 1/500s, flash sync at all speeds
  • Lens: Olympus Pen F mount, 25mm f4 E.Zuiko Auto-W, 5 elements in 5 groups, MFD 0.25m, 43mm filter thread

Battery: PX625 equivalent, such as MRB625 zinc-air, for the light meter (included)

Due to the age of this camera and the nature of old light meters we can't guarantee that the light meter still works. This isn't an issue as the camera will function perfectly without batteries. To meter a scene before taking a picture we recommend using an external light-meter or for you to take our online course that will teach you how to use a film camera without the use of any external tools.
