Pentax SP1000 35mm SLR film camera with 55mm f2 lens

€229,00

Description

We have always liked the Spotmatic series for being one of the cameras that quietly defined what a 35mm SLR should be. The SP1000 is a late and simplified version of the original Spotmatic, stripped back to the essentials: a fully mechanical shutter, TTL centre-weighted metering activated by a lever on the body, and the M42 screw mount that opens up one of the widest ranges of affordable lenses available for any film camera. The 55mm f/2 SMC Takumar is a lovely optic, sharp across the frame with a warm, smooth rendering that holds up very well. There are no automatic modes here, everything is set by hand, which makes the SP1000 a brilliant camera for anyone who wants to learn exposure properly or who simply enjoys the slower, more deliberate approach to photography. It's compact for a metal SLR, well balanced, and built to last.

Specs

  • Type: Fully mechanical SLR with TTL CdS centre-weighted metering
  • Maximum shutter speed: 1/1000s
  • Lens: M42 screw mount, SMC Takumar 55mm f/2
  • Modes: Full manual only, stopped-down match-needle metering

Battery: No battery required, the camera is fully mechanical. A battery is needed only to power the light meter. A modern SR44 silver oxide battery can be used as a direct replacement (included).

Due to the age of this camera and the nature of old light meters we can't guarantee that the light meter still works. This isn't an issue as the camera will function perfectly without batteries. To meter a scene before taking a picture we recommend using an external light-meter or for you to take our online course that will teach you how to use a film camera without the use of any external tools.

Tax included. Shipping calculated at checkout.
