Yashica IC Lynx 5000E 35mm Rangefinder camera with 45mm f1.8 lens

€149,00

Description:

The Lynx 5000E is one of the finest fixed-lens rangefinders Yashica ever made, and it is often unfairly overlooked in favour of the more celebrated Electro 35. The key difference is that this is a fully manual camera: you set aperture and shutter speed yourself, the shutter fires at every speed from B to 1/1000s without any battery at all, and the result is a camera that puts you completely in charge of every exposure. The 45mm f1.8 Yashinon lens is a 6-element design with a reputation for sharpness and smooth rendering wide open, and the IC designation on the front indicates the updated integrated circuit metering system, which displays simply over or under in the viewfinder via LEDs rather than a match needle. The all-metal build is solid and beautifully made, the coupled rangefinder is clear and accurate, and the Copal SV leaf shutter syncs with flash at every speed. This example comes with its original Yashica leather ever-ready case. A serious and very capable rangefinder that deserves far more attention than it gets.

Due to the age of this camera and the nature of old light meters we can't guarantee that the light meter still works. This isn't an issue as the camera will function perfectly without batteries. To meter a scene before taking a picture we recommend using an external light-meter or for you to take our online course that will teach you how to use a film camera without the use of any external tools.
