Zenit TTL 35mm SLR Film Camera with 55mm f1.8 Lens
Description:
The Zenit TTL has a reputation that goes beyond its modest origins. Built at the Krasnogorsk Mechanical Plant outside Moscow from 1977, it was one of the first Soviet SLRs to feature proper through-the-lens metering, a significant step forward from the older Zenit E. The all-metal body is famously solid and dense, built with the kind of no-nonsense construction that makes these cameras difficult to kill. The fully mechanical shutter needs no battery to fire, and the M42 screw mount gives access to one of the widest and most affordable lens libraries in all of film photography, including many excellent Soviet and German lenses. The 55mm f1.8 lens included here is a fast and capable standard lens, well suited to portraits and low-light photography with a rendering that has real character. There are no automatic modes on the Zenit TTL, just a match-needle meter visible in the viewfinder to guide your settings. A great camera for anyone who wants to learn exposure from the ground up, or who appreciates a piece of photographic history that still shoots beautifully.

Due to the age of this camera and the nature of old light meters we can't guarantee that the light meter still works. This isn't an issue as the camera will function perfectly without batteries. To meter a scene before taking a picture we recommend using an external light-meter or for you to take our online course that will teach you how to use a film camera without the use of any external tools.
