The DL-300 is one of those 1980s Fuji compacts that tends to get overlooked, but it deserves more attention than it gets. Released in 1986, it is built around a sharp Fujinon f/2.8 lens that handles colour and detail well, and the fully automatic exposure and autofocus system does a reliable job across most conditions. The f/2.8 aperture gives it a useful edge in lower light without needing the flash every time. Fuji's drop-in film loading is a thoughtful touch, making it one of the easiest cameras to load, especially for anyone new to film. The sliding lens cover turns the camera on and doubles as protection for the lens. Everything else is automatic: focus, exposure, film advance, and rewind. A solid, unfussy everyday compact that produces good results without any fuss.
