The session will begin with an informative discussion on the topic, including an introduction to various photographers who have worked with the Polaroid. There will be books available on-site for consultation.

During the practical segment of the workshop, you will learn how to take pictures and how to work with the Polaroid as an object. Melanie will assist you in creating diptychs or triptychs and show you how photos can enhance each other in terms of subject matter and graphics. I understand—it can be overwhelming to choose with so many options available.

For everyday use, I usually recommend Kodak Gold 200 or Kodak Ultramax 400 as both are super versatile, offer beautiful, rich colours, and are quite forgiving.

If you’re looking for black-and-white film, Ilford XP2 400 is a great option for ease of use and rich exposure latitude. Alternatively, Foma 100 is also great and will give you a bit more contrast and a grainier look.
