The Canon Autoboy D5, known as the Sure Shot A1 in North America and Prima AS-1 in Europe, was a real innovation when it came out in 1994. You can take it to the beach, in the rain, in the pool, surfing, or just use it as your daily carry without a second thought. The 32mm lens is sharp and wide enough for most situations, the 3-point autofocus is accurate, and the large viewfinder was designed with extra eye relief so it can be used while wearing a diving mask or ski goggles. It also has a switchable panorama mode on the base. A camera that genuinely earns the title of go-anywhere.
