The Canon Model 7 is the finest rangefinder Canon ever made and the last in their long line of Leica screw mount cameras. Released in 1961, it was designed to compete directly with the Leica M3, bringing switchable projected frame lines for 35 to 135mm lenses, a coupled rangefinder with an exceptionally long base length, and a built-in selenium meter requiring no battery at all. The fully mechanical focal plane shutter runs from 1 second to 1/1000s and works perfectly in any conditions. The M39 Leica screw mount gives access to one of the most extensive lens libraries ever made, and the Industar-26M 52mm f2.8 fitted here is a compact and capable Soviet standard lens that produces sharp, characterful images with a rendering that many photographers find genuinely appealing. A serious, well-built, and historically significant rangefinder.

Battery: No battery required. The selenium meter is self-powered by ambient light.
Due to the age of this camera and the nature of old light meters we can't guarantee that the light meter still works. This isn't an issue as the camera will function perfectly without batteries. To meter a scene before taking a picture we recommend using an external light-meter or for you to take our online course that will teach you how to use a film camera without the use of any external tools.
