The Prima Zoom 80u is one of Canon's last and most compact film cameras, and it delivers a lot for its size. The 38-80mm lens includes an aspherical element in a 6-element formula, which gives notably sharp results across the zoom range in a body that weighs barely over 180g. The passive 3-point AiAF autofocus handles everyday distances accurately, with a spot AF mode for off-centre subjects, and a close-up mode brings the minimum focus distance down to 45cm. The real-time shutter release mode cuts lag to a fraction of a second for more responsive shooting, and custom functions let you store your preferred flash and shooting mode settings so the camera remembers them between sessions. Scene modes for action, portrait, night portrait, and close-up, plus continuous shooting at 1 fps, round out a genuinely well-specified compact.
