Description:

The TLA-200 is the more powerful of the two flashes made for the Contax G system, and it’s the one that was introduced alongside the G2. It offers more range than the TLA-140, with a guide number of 20, making it a better choice when you need to cover larger spaces or shoot further from your subject. The zoom head adjusts manually to match your lens, covering 28mm through to 90mm, so the light spreads correctly regardless of which G-mount lens you have on. TTL metering works directly with both the G1 and G2 for accurate, automatic flash exposure. Like the TLA-140, the titanium finish keeps it in line with the rest of the G system, and the whole unit stays compact enough not to feel out of place on such a sleek camera.

For everyday use, I usually recommend Kodak Gold 200 or Kodak Ultramax 400 as both are super versatile, offer beautiful, rich colours, and are quite forgiving.

If you’re looking for black-and-white film, Ilford XP2 400 is a great option for ease of use and rich exposure latitude. Alternatively, Foma 100 is also great and will give you a bit more contrast and a grainier look.
