The 35mm wide end is slightly broader than the usual 38mm found on most zoom compacts, giving a touch more room in the frame for group shots and interiors, and the 70mm tele end is a flattering portrait length. The infrared autofocus with focus memory lets you lock focus and recompose, and exposure override of +2EV gives you useful backlight compensation. A bulb mode handles longer exposures, and the camera can fire continuously at around one frame every 1.5 seconds. For a camera at this price point on the second-hand market, the optical quality is genuinely impressive.
