The 6-element construction in 4 groups is compact, all-metal, and built to the standard that made Rokkor lenses a reference point for quality in their era. On film it sits in the normal field of view, making it just as useful for everyday portraits and general photography as it is for close-up work. It also adapts beautifully to modern Sony E, Fuji X, and Nikon Z mirrorless cameras via simple, inexpensive adapters, which has given this lens a second life with a new generation of photographers.
