The Nikon F3 is a camera with an electronically controlled shutter. This means you will need 2x LR44 batteries to be able to operate the camera..
It uses Nikon F-mount lenses. Being one of the oldest F mount cameras, you will be able to use all F-mount lenses from early non-ai series until the recent D-series. Later lenses will still mount, but you will not have control over the aperture.
The Nikon F3 could also be renamed “the king of SLRs”. It’s max shutter speed of 1/2000th and incredible light-metering system make it one of the most satisfying cameras to use. As part of the Nikon Professional line, the Nikon F3 was used by photojournalists, war correspondents and many other working photographers from the 80s all the way through the early 2000s. It’s a solid, super well built camera, with swappable focusing screens, prisms and backs, allowing you to build the perfect setup for your shooting style.
This is a specially modified Nikon F3 made for Press photographers. It features enhancements for durability, speed, and versatility. It boasts improved weather resistance, a high-eyepoint viewfinder for easy framing, and a modified film advance for rapid shooting. Additional conveniences include a locking shutter release to prevent accidental exposures and a front-mounted flash sync terminal, making it ideal for the demanding conditions of journalism and sports photography. These modifications made the F3P a robust tool for professionals requiring reliability and efficiency in the field.
