It sits just below the F90X in the range and shares the same fundamental strengths: a metal chassis, weather-resistant build, full PASM exposure modes, three metering patterns including spot, predictive autofocus, and a 1/8000s shutter. Handling is very similar to Nikon's digital SLRs from the same era, which makes it intuitive if you have ever shot with any Nikon D-series camera. The 24-120mm zoom fitted here is one of the most versatile ranges available in a single lens, covering wide-angle through to a useful short telephoto, making this a strong all-in-one travel and documentary kit. The F90 runs on standard AA batteries and accepts the full range of Nikon F-mount AI lenses and onwards.
