At 150mm on the long end, this is one of the furthest-reaching zoom lenses you will find in a compact point and shoot of this era. It is the kind of reach that lets you properly isolate a subject, capture detail from a distance, or frame a portrait with real compression. The lens is built with 10 elements in 8 groups, which is a generous optical construction for a camera this size, and the infrared autofocus keeps things sharp with a simple half-press. Everything else is fully automatic, making it just as easy to pick up and use as any other point and shoot, just with significantly more zoom in your pocket.
