We like the Yashica J-Motor for exactly what it is, a no-fuss, pick-up-and-shoot camera that just works. The 32mm lens gives you a slightly wider view than the usual 35mm, which is great for capturing more of a scene without having to step back. It uses a focus-free design, meaning the depth of field is wide enough that most subjects come out sharp without any adjustment from you. There is also a dedicated portrait mode for closer shots. Motorised film advance takes care of itself, the flash pops up when you need it, and that is really all there is to it. A solid first camera, or a great one to keep in a bag for casual everyday shooting.
