We like the Zoomate 70 for being a solid, no-nonsense compact that gets the job done. The 38-70mm zoom covers the most useful everyday range, wide enough for groups and interiors at 38mm, and just long enough at 70mm for flattering portraits without getting in anyone's face. The autofocus with focus lock keeps things sharp, there are multiple flash modes so you have a bit of control over the light, and everything else is fully automatic. It is a pocketable, lightweight camera that is easy to use from day one. A good honest everyday camera for anyone just getting into film.
