The snap-open lens cover springs the camera to life instantly, and the 35mm f2.8 lens, a sharp 5-element design, is one of the better optics you'll find on a compact of this era. Infrared autofocus is reliable down to 0.7m, exposure is fully programmed with plus or minus 1.5 EV compensation available when you need it, and the pop-up flash only activates when you choose to raise it, which is a practical and considerate design choice. There's also a double exposure function for creative shooting, and the date back imprints the date or time directly onto the frame. Runs on easy-to-find AA batteries for the camera, with two LR44 cells powering the date function separately.
