The Revu Auto-Reflex is a European rebadge of the Konica Auto-Reflex, one of the most historically significant SLRs ever made. The original Konica Auto-Reflex of 1965 was the world's first 35mm SLR to offer automatic exposure with a focal plane shutter, and it came with one more trick that no other camera has ever quite matched: a lever on the top of the body that switches between full-frame and half-frame format mid-roll, giving you twice as many shots per roll when you want them. The fully mechanical shutter works without any battery at all, and the Konica AR mount gives access to an excellent range of Hexanon lenses. The 40mm f1.8 Hexanon paired here is a fast, sharp lens with a natural field of view that sits comfortably between a standard and a wide angle, and it renders beautifully wide open.

Due to the age of this camera and the nature of old light meters we can’t guarantee that the light meter still works. This isn’t an issue as the camera will function perfectly without batteries. To meter a scene before taking a picture we recommend using an external light meter or for you to take our online course that will teach you how to use a film camera without the use of any external tools.
