Description:

The Yashica TL-Electro is a fully mechanical camera. This means it does not require batteries to operate the shutter.

It uses M42 screw mount lenses.

The Yashica TL-Electro is Yashica's answer to Pentax's Spotmatics. It has a mechanical shutter, but was one of the early models featuring a light meter. We love the Yashica for its reliability and how repairable they are when damaged. They are a great system for beginners, as good M42 lenses are easy to find and quite affordable.

Due to the age of this camera and the nature of old light meters we can’t guarantee that the light meter still works. This isn’t an issue as the camera will function perfectly without batteries. To meter a scene before taking a picture we recommend using an external light-meter or a light-meter app on your phone. Alternatively you can use the foolproof sunny-16 rule.
